Sweetwater Creek was a great day hike. An easy hike to the Civil War ruins. While the ruins are fenced offed, there were still plenty of great photo opportunities. We continued on to the shoals to stop and have snacks. We would have liked to gone further but we had trouble finding the trail head. You could head back to the ruins via the shoals, but it was a bumpy hike climbing over the granite shoals. We returned on our original path, passing the rangers station, headed down a new trail. Just after a great covered metal bridge we relaxed on the bank and enjoyed lunch. This is a must see hike very close to Atlanta.
