For many of us there is an awkward time of year right after the holidays but before spring break where we are restless. The days are short the scenery is bleak and were just itchin’ in our skin. We need to have some fun. So lets start a fire grab our favorite blanket and curl up to watch a scary camping movie.
Let’s start with some all time favorite’s.
Friday the 13th (1980)– How can we not love Jason Voorhees. A camper at Camp Crystal Lake who drowned due to the negligence of the camp staff. He got revenge 12 times…..
Swamp Thing (1982)– After chemical explosion in a backwaters lab, Dr. Alec Holland has to face that he inadvertently turned himself into a combination of animal and plant capable of adapting and thriving in the harshest conditions.
The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972)– This movie raises the question of weather or not your alone in the woods at night. More of a documentary than a horror flick this movies dig deep into the sighting of a “Bigfoot” in Fouke, Arkansas that date back to the 1950s.
Lake Placid (1999)– A gigantic crocodile is terrorizing residents in Black Lake, Maine. Three unlikely character come together to try and stop it only to be diverted by the elderly woman who has been feeding it her cows for years.
Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)– A strange prehistoric beast is terrorizing the Amazon Jungle. A group of scientists is tasked to capture the animal and bring it back to civilization for study. Grab the 3D glasses for this thriller.
So now that you know what goes “bump” in the night, ready to make those camping spot reservations….Wha ahahaha….(evil laugh)
When you watch these movies please be responsible. While yes they are cheesy, some scene’s might be to intense for young viewers.
